Apricot trees generally take 3 to 5 years before you will get any fruit. So keep taking good care of this one; just another year or 2 or 3... You may need another variety for cross-pollination when the time comes. That's not the same thing as male and female; it just means that most fruit trees won't bear fruit unless their blossoms are pollinated by bees that have visited another variety of that fruit. You don't necessarily have to have the other tree in your yard, as long as there is one in reasonable proximity.
Reply:You might have an apricot tree that needs more chill hours than you are getting in that area.

A chill hour is the combined total of hours in the winter that the tree gets at 45 degrees or below.

I think that it would be the likely cause.

There are many other things that can go wrong. Pruning out the fruit buds, too many branches, fertilizing in the spring, over fertilizing, dead tree( lol ), that kind of stuff.
Reply:Don't you need a male and a female tree to get fruit? That is what we were told about our apple tree.
Reply:It will have fruit in 3-4 years!
Reply:i just water my fruit trees and they grow different times each year.
